About Jana Höffner

Jana has been an IT consultant for TYPO3 at Dataport since April 2026, helping public administration build digital services that work for citizens. Her goal is to turn government communication into a real citizen experience. That starts with good information: content has to be clear, targeted and easy to find, and processes, from online participation to administrative services, have to be intuitive, free of media breaks and genuinely built around users. She is also Vice President of the TYPO3 Association, having joined its board in 2025.

For more than eleven years, Jana translated the “politics of being heard” into the digital world at the State Ministry of Baden-Württemberg. She worked on the state portal Baden-Württemberg.de, the government’s citizen participation portal and the ministry’s social media channels, as editor, video maker and photographer, designer, concept developer and strategist. From 2017 she led the unit responsible for the online communication of the state government and the Minister-President. During the COVID-19 pandemic she became a “translator of regulations”, explaining the rules in clear, understandable language.

She then spent three years as a senior consultant at RYSM in Hamburg, passing on her knowledge and experience in content strategy and TYPO3. She also writes the Citizen Experience newsletter.
