About Karolina Zimniak
Karolina thrives in environments that provide a meeting ground for ideas and diversity of thought.
Due to many global initiatives (working in three different countries), she gained experience in using a systems-based approach to work on cross-disciplinary projects from the creative process of graphic design, developing training for a diverse audience, knowledge management, to developing intuitive intranets (2021 Intranet and Digital Workplace Awards runner up) and simplifying internal communication.
Karolina integrates visual communication and simple narratives into her work not only to bring teams together (stakeholder’s buy-in) but to create a foundation for shared understanding (co-design and co-creation sessions). That skill was put to test when working on the new hire onboarding experience. Her ability to switch between divergent and convergent thinking helped her develop key insights based on patterns she found when collecting data. Karolina converted research into a wide range of actionable ideas to deliver an internal website with simplified language and a set of infographics and short training videos.
She encourages entre- and intrapreneurial mindset as a means for organizational, business, and her favorite social innovation and sustainable design. She applied a mission-oriented innovation framework supporting UN’s sustainable development goals to the street party project for one of the Australian cities. She used an emotional journey map to prepare a client for creating ideas on a preferred mission-driven future state.
Karolina’s degrees in International Business and European Economy and Management strengthened her skills in analysis, synthesis, and rational thinking. On the other hand, her Postgraduate Diploma in Graphic Design and Graduate Certificate in Service Design added intuitive and creative thinking to her skillset.
When she’s not glued to her screen working on another e-book or improving user journey, you can probably find her kayaking, playing beach volleyball, or soaking up the outdoors.
