About Katja Diehl
Katja Diehl is a German mobility expert, bestselling author and one of Europe's leading voices for climate- and socially just transport systems. With 25 years of leadership experience across communication, marketing and mobility organisations, she brings both strategic depth and a strong sense of purpose to the mobility transition. Her mission is clear: climate- and socially just mobility for everyone, now.
Katja combines deep expertise with a genuine passion for transformation. She is the author of several books on the future of mobility, including the bestseller Autokorrektur, which received the Readers' Prize of the German Business Book Award, as well as Raus aus der Autokratie, Kehr mit in die Welt von morgen, and Picknick auf der Autobahn — her first children's book. Her most recent work, Wir das Leben wieder selbst in die Hand, continues her mission of inviting readers into the fight for a better, fairer everyday life.
What drives her is the conviction that mobility can unite quality of life, participation and climate action — that we do not have to choose between comfort and responsibility, and that intersectional perspectives in mobility are essential, not optional. Her work translates complex debates into accessible, human stories that inspire change, whether through her books, her keynote speaking (with over 200 stage appearances to date), or her ongoing advisory work.
About She Drives Mobility
She Drives Mobility is Katja's platform for reimagining transport around people rather than cars. Launched as a podcast in 2019, it has grown into a well-known personal brand and community, bringing together conversations with guests on topics like mobility, diversity, new work, inclusion, child-friendly cities, and mobility in rural areas.
Through the podcast, her weekly newsletter, and a wider network of partnerships and collaborations, She Drives Mobility gives Katja a platform to develop concepts and narratives that put people — not motors — at the centre of the mobility conversation, translating complex debates into accessible, human stories that inspire change.
