About Stephen Velasco
Stephen is Digital Workplace Solution Architect at Ørsted, where he works across Microsoft 365, SharePoint and Azure on the architecture and evolution of the company's digital workplace platform. He describes his work as sitting where systems, teams and constraints meet. That means shaping solutions, working through dependencies early and dealing with the parts that don't behave the way they looked on paper.
Much of that work centres on recovery and resilience, including exercises that test what holds up under pressure. He is also involved in governance, especially where AI is entering the workplace. There his aim is rules that make sense in practice and that people can follow without a process for everything.
Stephen moved into the role in April 2026 after almost seven years as SharePoint Lead Product Owner, leading the development of Deca, Ørsted's global Microsoft 365 collaboration platform. Before Ørsted he was IT Solution Architect at Flügger and spent six years at Maersk working on its group-wide SharePoint intranet.
