About Elizabeth Andrews
Elizabeth is Senior Digital Operations Manager at the University of St Andrews, where she has worked for more than 14 years across library services, communications and the university's web presence. Before stepping into her current role in 2025, she was seconded to the university's newly formed Agile Creative Team as a Web Content Development Specialist, developing and overseeing web content strategies for the university. Before that, she spent almost two years as Senior Web Content Editor.
Her path into digital began at the University Library. She joined as an Academic Liaison Officer in 2012, handling marketing, communications and student enquiries, then became the Library's Communications Officer, running social media campaigns, overseeing signage and supporting customer service. As User Experience and Communications Manager from 2019 to 2023, she built a strategic approach to UX and communications across every area of the Library.
Elizabeth's background is in literature. She holds a first-class BA in English Studies, an MLitt in the Gothic Imagination with distinction, and a PhD in Gothic Literature, all from the University of Stirling. That grounding in close reading and clear writing shapes her focus on content that serves the people who rely on it.
