About Syed Nazmus Sadat

Syed is Web & Data Analytics Executive at Edinburgh Napier University, where he turns messy digital data into insights that improve user experience and support decision-making. He designs analytics frameworks, sets up reliable tracking and translates complex datasets into clear recommendations. Since joining the role in 2025, he has implemented and audited Google Analytics 4 and Google Tag Manager across more than ten university websites, introducing standardised tagging that improved data accuracy by 35%.

His work covers customer journey analysis, conversion optimisation, dashboard development and KPI reporting, using tools such as Looker Studio, Power BI, SQL, Hotjar and Microsoft Clarity. A background in web development means he understands both how data is collected and how it can be used to improve digital experiences. That lets him bridge analytics, UX and digital delivery, and work closely with marketing, digital and technical teams.

About Edinburgh Napier University

Edinburgh Napier University was founded in 1964 as Napier Technical College, named after John Napier, the 16th-century Scottish mathematician who invented logarithms. It gained university status in 1992 and took its current name in 2009. Its three campuses in Edinburgh are Merchiston, built around Napier's former tower house, Craiglockhart and Sighthill.

The university teaches around 13,800 students in Edinburgh, and more than 21,000 when online and overseas programmes are included, with students from over 140 countries. It is organised into five schools, covering applied sciences, arts and creative industries, business, computing and engineering, and health and social care. It has twice won the Queen's Anniversary Prize, both times for its work on construction.
