5 takeaways from the Boye Aarhus 22 conference

By Vojtech Boril, VP of Growth and Marketing at Kontent.ai

From the conference opening on day #2 where Jens Peter Hansen, President at Cyklistforbundet (Danish Cyclists' Federation), reminded us that even an old low-tech innovation can drive big change, also for health and jobs

This week, I had a great time at the Boye Aarhus 22 conference - The Digital Leadership Conference in Denmark organized by Boye & Company.

Some quick highlights & takeaways:

👉 Comms needs to be bold, courageous, authentic while remaining planned & strategic from Philip Lewin session about A.P. Moller - Maersk comm approach. The session was appropriately titled ‘Keeping our seat at the table’ and you can view the slides (PDF)

👉 “We need to move from a human to a humanity and environmental centered design approach.”

Thorsten Jonas also looked to the mountains for a reminder of both the wonder of our planet and the harsh realities of climate change

A bold statement by Thorsten Jonas from his session about sustainable UX. Go check out SUX - The Sustainable UX Network!

Thorsten Jonas (to the right) on the morning run, next to Vojtech, Thomas Dugaro, Gavin Colborne, Janus Boye, Adam Feldt, Jonas Wolter and Pernille Feldt.

👉 Composable architecture & headless implementations are clear macro trends moving forward “BUT”. We had a great discussion with Sebastian Winslow from Valtech & others on pros/cons and client needs & expectations. View the slides (PDF)

👉 Employee advocacy “non-framework” by Anne Frost: train & cheer -> infiltrate onboarding -> highlight the heroes -> repeat forever.

I appreciate the turbulent discussion that included even some different opinions but overall gave us some really good perspectives on employee advocacy and culture.

Vojtech (to the right) moderated a popular roundtable on AI and CMS. On the photo is also from the left Sarah van Gellekom from the Royal Danish Library and Wim Van Horen from Contentstack.

👉 I got to moderate one of the roundtables on the future of Artificial Intelligence & Content Management. The roundtable was focused on the AI in content creation & curation first (exciting but also a bit scary!), but we agreed there are much more use cases that could have bigger impact, specifically on the automation of repetitive tasks (nobody likes that right ;)).

Thanks to everyone joining the roundtable.

Let’s keep learning together

The conversation continues at CMS Kickoff 23 in Florida in January and then there’s naturally also the peer groups in Europe and North America, including the CMS Expert community.

If you would like to join the next Boye conference in Aarhus, then stay tuned for the Boye Aarhus 23 conference happening on November 7 - 9 next year.
