Introducing Open Source CMS 26: A new European conference

By Janus Boye

We are excited to announce a new addition to our conference programme:
Open Source CMS 26.

Taking place on 20–21 October 2026 in Utrecht, Open Source CMS 26 is a new European conference for the open source CMS community. It brings together practitioners, digital leaders, agencies, and platform builders working with open source CMS in real organisations.

This is a focused, practitioner-led conference rooted in the Boye & Co community. It is designed as a place to step away from hype cycles and tooling wars, and instead focus on what actually works when building, running, and evolving complex digital ecosystems.

Utrecht is a charming city, which has previously hosted Boye group meetings

The programme will be curated with and by the community, and will explore topics such as:

  • AI and automation in open source CMS

  • Accessibility and inclusive digital experiences

  • Community building and developer advocacy

  • Digital sovereignty, governance, and sustainability

  • The long-term future of open source CMS platforms

What to expect

  • Open conversations across communities and platforms, spanning agencies, practitioners, and industry analysts

  • Practical insights from people building and operating large-scale, mission-critical digital platforms

  • Experience-led discussions about governance, scalability, sustainability, and the future of open source CMS

We are now looking for conference partners and speakers. If you are building, leading, or learning the hard way with open source CMS, we would love to hear from you.
