Working groups and interactivity is an important part of our learning experience. Kris Purdy from Glasgow put the participants to work at one of our 2025 conferences

Join the first annual Open Source CMS Conference - a vendor-neutral event bringing together the global open source CMS community to share ideas, tools, and best practices for building better content management systems.

Tired of impersonal, overwhelming tech conferences? Open Source CMS 26 is different: a unique mix of hands-on masterclasses, expert talks, interactive discussions, and real networking with the people shaping open source CMS today.

We're hosting it at Stadsklooster Utrecht, a unique and character-filled venue, a former monastery. A great place to build the day around.

Speakers

Alejandro Moreno Lopez (ES)
Director at large at Drupal

Benni Mack (DE)
TYPO3 Project Lead and CTO at b13

Saskia Videler (BE)

What is the Open Source CMS conference?

It is what has been mentioned as the missing gathering place for the open source CMS community - an international conference with confirmed participants from Europe and North America.

A friendly mix of digital leaders from notable open source CMS projects, agencies, even a few industry analysts who get together to learn, network and talk about what really matters when it comes to creating better open source CMS projects right now and for the foreseeable future.

Who’s joining us?

It is an international conference with confirmed participants from Europe and North America. A friendly mix of vendors, agencies, analysts and customers who get together to learn, network and talk about what really matters when it comes to creating better digital experiences right now and for the foreseeable future

Thanks to all who have already the commitment to learning and networking. We’ll keep this list updated as we get nearer October.

At the conference you can learn from practitioners from Albert Heijn, City of Antwerp and several others.

Among the open source projects and platform companies attending are Drupal, Joomla, Pantheon, TYPO3, Umbraco, Webiny and WordPress. As you can see, it’s not just the usual vendors, but also from the larger ecosystem.

Bringing perspectives from the hosting and infrastructure side are Kinsta and mittwald. Both have extensive experience supporting organisations and agencies working with open source CMS platforms at scale.

On the agency and consulting side you can meet b13, Crowd Favorite, MaxServ, Punkt.de and XWP. Talk to them about what happens “when the rubber hits the road” and they’ll help you towards 2026 project success.

Among the analysts joining us are Matt Garrepy from CMS Critic and our host Janus Boye from Boye & Co in Denmark.

Venue

This year’s conference will take place at Stadsklooster Utrecht - a former monastery turned cultural venue where art, culture, and reflection come together, with a strong focus on the local community.

It's located at Kanaalstraat 198 in Utrecht's Lombok neighbourhood, and rents out several distinct spaces for presentations, meetings, and events. A unique, character-filled spot instead of a typical conference venue - a great place to build the day around.

What more can we say? Utrecht is easy to get to with train, and also a short trip from Amsterdam Airport.
