Thanks to everyone who joined the first vendor-neutral conference for the open source CMS community
Karim from Crowd Favorite, an enterprise WordPress agency, alongside Daniel Fau from TYPO3 at the beginning of the Open Source CMS 26 conference. The inaugural open source CMS conference was joined by eight open source CMS projects, many agencies and several practitioners
It was held on October 20–21, 2026 in Utrecht, Netherlands

A venue with a story
The conference was held at Stadsklooster Utrecht, formerly the Roman Catholic St. Antonius Church.
Built more than 120 years ago, this beautiful historic building was saved by its local community, who recognised something worth preserving and worked together to give it a new future.
Today, the former church is a place for culture, conversation and community. It brings together heritage and reinvention, making it a fitting setting for our participants from across the open source CMS community, who share a commitment to preserving, improving and building something valuable together.

What is the Open Source CMS conference?
It's what's been missing for the open source CMS community — an international gathering bringing together digital leaders to tackle the challenges shaping open source CMS today and in the years ahead.
Expect friendly mix of vendors, agencies, analysts and customers from Europe and North America who get together to learn, network and talk about what really matters when it comes to creating better digital experiences right now and for the foreseeable future.

At the conference you can learn from practitioners from Albert Heijn, Europol, ICANN and several others.
Among the open source projects and platform companies attending are Drupal, Joomla, Pantheon, Silverstripe, TYPO3, Umbraco, Wagtail, Webiny and WordPress. As you can see, it’s not just the usual vendors, but also from the larger ecosystem.
Bringing perspectives from the hosting and infrastructure side are Kinsta and mittwald. Both have extensive experience supporting organisations and agencies working with open source CMS platforms at scale.
